Force pick=up for weighing - has strain gauges mounted on bar and two parallel take-up arms having point connections with support and load

The appts. comprises a rectilinear bar (1) of circular cross-section. Near each end are situated at least two strain gauges (2-5). One pair of gauges (2,3) are sensitive to stretching and compression and the other (4,5) are sensitive to torsion. Two take-up arms (8,9) are fixed respectively to the ends of the active length of the bar. The arms are each mounted on a clamp (6,7) which receives an end of the bar. The arms have means (11,12) of point connection respectively with a reaction support and with the load, which are arranged such that the points of application of connection stresses are transversally aligned w.r.t. the bar. The arms are parallel to each other and to the bar which is situated between them and in the same plane. The force pick-up device is particularly applicable to weighing operations.
