PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective element provided with a PTC element and a spring, made to a shape memory alloy in which the PTC will become a free state, even if the spring made of shape memory alloy is restored into memorized shape and no nonconformity such as re-condition, etc., occurs. SOLUTION: A first spring 3 for biasing and a movable contact 5 are housed in a metal case 1, and the opening of the metallic case 1 is stopped by an insulation bushing 6. A second lead 7 which penetrates the insulation bushing 6 is provided, and a spring 9 which is made of a shape memory alloy and deformed into contracted state is interposed between the movable contact 5 and insulation bushing 6, and then a PTC element 10 is also interposed between the movable contact 5 and a fixed contact 8.
