<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scene sound generating device that can reproduce a scene sound with rich variation with a simple constitution so that the sound can be enjoyed. <P>SOLUTION: A recorder 12 records a plurality of sound elements representing raw materials (e.g. sounds of seagulls, ships, etc.) of a scene (e.g. a scene of the sea) which are picked up by a sound collecting microphone 11. Editing parts 13A, 13B, and 13C adjust the sound elements reproduced by the recorder 12 along the time base and edit them. Three MP3 memories 14A, 14B, and 14C store the waveform data of one cycle of respective edited sound elements. Speaker units 18A, 18B, and 18C are of a mobile type and separated from a main body case 1. Reproduction parts 15A, 15B, and 15C reproduce the sound elements to synthesize a scene sound. Variable resistors 16A, 16B, and 16C adjust sound volume values, and the positions of the speaker units 18A, 18B, and 18C are set to give variation to a pattern.
