PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously display an observation image of a target point in a patient, an introduction point of a real or virtual needle in the skin of the patient, and a trajectory of a virtual or biopsy needle between them. SOLUTION: A virtual needle is useful for planning to introduce an object such as a biopsy probe to an introduction point of a patient along trajectory 106, 106 leading to target points 132, 132' in the patient. The patient is scanned using an image forming device to generate an image volume data set 110 of the patient's region. A surgical planning device is disposed near the patient on the image forming device using a stereotactic machine arm assembly. Display includes a first x-axis direction observation image of the patient obtained via an image section corresponding to the virtual needle introduction point of the patient, and a second x-axis direction observation image of the patient obtained in the image section of the image volume data set corresponding to the target points in the patient. A first inclined axis/coronary direction observation image are displayed together with the x-axis direction observation images. |
