PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device and image forming device that can perform carriage moving speed correction without arranging a dedicated detector.SOLUTION: An image sensor 125 reads out a document placed on a document table in connection with movement of a carriage. A white reference portion is arranged in a carriage movable range while confronting the carriage, and used to achieve white reference data based on an image sensor 125. A length measurement unit 401 acquires the length of the white reference portion in the carriage movement direction based on an image read out by the image sensor 125 when the carriage passes over a position at which the carriage confronts the white reference portion. A correction unit 402 corrects the driving operation speed of a driving motor 411 when images of the document placed on the document table is read out, based on the length of the white reference portion acquired by the measuring unit 401.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
