PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processability, paint adhesive properties, and rust resistance of a steel sheet for a can by tin-or tin-zinc alloy-plating a single side of a steel sheet, further executing a specific phosphate film thereon, and covering the other surface side with a chromate film and a thermoplastic polyester film layer thereon. SOLUTION: After a low carbon cold rolled steel sheet 1 is degreased and pickled, a steel sheet surface corresponding to an outer surface of a can is coated with a tin-or tin-zinc alloy-plating 2 under the conditions of, for example, a tin ion concentration of 20 to 30 g/L (phenolsulfonic acid bath), a bath temperature of 40 to 50 deg.C, a current density of 10 to 20A/dm<2> , an adhering amount of 1 to 10 g/m<2> and the like, and further a phosphate film 3 is formed under the conditions of, for example, 100 g/L of NaH2 PO4 , 30 g/L of H3 PO4 and the like. A metallic chromium and a chromium hydrate oxide film 3 are formed on a surface of the steel sheet corresponding to an inner surface of the can, and further is covered with a thermoplastic polyester resin 5.
|
