A pipe joint, which reliably prevents relative rotation between female and male joint members without particularly providing a cover or the like or without being subjected to various constraints in actual pipe joining conditions, comprising a retainer (46) provided with a holding portion (56a, 56b) for holding the end of a male joint member (54) against slip-off when the spool portion (54) of a male joint member (44) engages it, wherein the noncircular portion of the male joint member (44) cooperates with the holding portion (56a, 56b) of the retainer (46) to constitute a whirl-stop means for preventing relative rotation between the female and male joint members (42, 44).
