PURPOSE:To obtain a covered food material for thermal cooking, edible with a better texture and flavor such as a soft and puffy food material (ingredient) and a covering having crispiness and provide a method for producing a food utilizing the food material. CONSTITUTION:This covered food material is used for thermal cooking in a state thereof kept in contact with an oil and comprises an uncooked or a semicooked food material, a self-supporting edible material sheet coating the food material and a breader layer formed on the outside of the sheet. Furthermore, the characteristic of this method for producing the covered food material comprises thermally cooking the covered food material kept in the state thereof in contact with the oil or cover the uncooked or semicooked food material with the self-supporting edible material sheet, further form the breader layer on the outside of the sheet, prepare the covered food material and then thermally cook the covered food material in the state thereof kept in contact with the oil. |
