PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely search an approximate focusing position even when an optional interchangeable lens is mounted. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to allow successively move a focus adjustment lens 21 on the basis of a total searching movement amountΔx', namely a moving speed, which is calculated to optimum to a depth of focus on the basis of the diameter (d) of an allowable circle of confusion and the ratio (b) with respect to the depth of focus at the interchangeable AF lens part 3 and an f-stop value FNO of 22 by supplying the diameter (d) of an allowable circle of confusion and the ratio (b) with respect to the depth of focus into the interchangeable AF lens part 3 from the main body part 2 of a camera, and to search the approximate focusing position regardless the mounted interchangeable AF lens part.
