HEADER RESTORING DEVICE AND HEADER RESTORING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a header restoring method that requests update of reference information in response to the state of error of a packet whose header is restored. SOLUTION: A header restoring section 703 of the header restoring device 709 references reference information of a reference information management section 707 to restore a packet compression header received by a packet reception section 704. An error detection section 702 checks a CRC error of the packet whose header is restored by the packet reception section 704 and a packet output section 701 outputs only correct packets. A consecutive decoding error count section 705 counts the number of consecutive errors detected by the error detection section 702 and a consecutive restoration successful count section 706 count the number of times of consecutive restoration success. An update request section 708 referencing the count transmits an update request to a transmitter side as required. The reference information management section 707 manages the reference information for decoding the header.
