A portable application (13) and a matching section (21) search a TP data management DB (22) for an image by using a hierarchically managed template with reference to the image inputted from an image input section (11). In this case, template matching using a template in an upper level layer (e.g., a primary layer template (2221)) is conducted, and then template matching using a template in a lower level layer (e.g., a secondary layer template (2222)) is conducted to screen the search images. The screened images of the search results are outputted through a display (12).
