PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium and a device for recording and reproducing information which enable a user to easily conduct editing work, and a method for recording and reproducing information. SOLUTION: The medium has a data area for recording an object and a management area for recording management information for reproducing the object. The management information includes a cell showing the break of the object and program chain information(PGCI) for making a program by connecting a plurality of cells. An area for describing a plurality of pieces of program chain information is secured in the area. A program information area for describing program information(PGI) on a corresponding program is secured in the describing area of the respective pieces of program chain information. The area of basic text information (PRM-TXTI) and the area of text search point information (IT-TXT-SRPN) are secured in this area.
