<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the contents of the message which displays the state of abnormality, failure, or the like of the electronic device used by a plurality of users different in the degree of skill, by changing the contents according to the users in a message display method for an electronic device, the electronic device and a program for display a corresponding message at the occurrence of a state of abnormality, a failure, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In a message display method for the electronic device 1, a memory is provided for storing an initial set message corresponding to each state, and a control part is provided for registering the changed message, user information in the memory in response to an assigned state by the input of a message prepared by the assignment of a state, user information and a change from an input part to the change instructions of the initial set message from the input part.
