The present invention relates to a plant disease resistance-related pepper-derived novel gene, Capsicum annuum bZIP transcription factor 2 (CabZIP2) and, more specifically, to a method for improving the resistance of a plant against pathogens by adjusting the expression of a CabZIP2 protein. It has been confirmed that CabZIP2-OX, which is a transgenic plant with the overexpressed CabZIP2, according to the present invention, has an excellent effect in improving resistance against bacterial pathogens, so the CabZIP2 may be usefully utilized in improving plants which humans may use. The CabZIP2 consists of a base sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 for coding a pepper-derived disease resistant protein. |
