PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal where no image deterioration is caused in the case of transmitting image data. SOLUTION: This facsimile terminal is provided with a scanner 1 that reads an original with high resolution and has a direct transmission mode and a memory transmission mode. Only when the direct transmission mode is selected, a communication control section 10 reads the original with high resolution. Thus, even when transmission is executed in the memory transmission mode, deterioration in the image quality can be prevented.
