<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter with a structure for realizing high speed and stable drive operations in a light emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmitter (100) is provided with a transistor circuit located in a package (110) as an auxiliary circuit of a drive circuit (160) for driving the light emitting element (130). When an N type FET is employed for a transistor (140) for the auxiliary circuit, a drain terminal (140a) of the N type FET (140) is connected to an anode (130a) of the light emitting element (130), and also connected to a voltage source provided outside the package (110), a gate terminal (140b) of the N type FET (140) is connected to the drive circuit (160) provided outside the package (110) and a cathode (140b) of the light emitting element (140), and a source terminal (140c) of the N type FET (140) is connected to ground. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
