<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a device and method for correcting the meandering of a running strip. CONSTITUTION:Two rolls 1 and 2 with different coefficients of friction of the surfaces in the axial directions, are opposed each other so that the coefficients of friction differ in the upper and the lower, and they are arranged with their axes crossed. And, pinch roll 6 and meandering detector 4 are arranged, sandwitching a strip 3 between them. The device is equipped with a controller setting the rotational speeds of the upper and the lower pinch rolls, and/or drawing down forces on the left and the right by the output of the meandering detector 4. Next, a meandering correcting device is provided on the running line of the strip 3, the meandering amount of the strip is detected, and the rotational speed of the pinch roll 6, and/or the drawing down forces on the right and the left, are controlled according to a meandering amount. Consequently, the correction of meandering is possible with a simple structure, this mechanism can be easily introduced to a present line, and meandering can be corrected with high accuracy.</p> |
