PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield excavator capable of determining the state of a tail brush.SOLUTION: A shield excavator having a shield body 15 for excavating the soil 10 and forming a tunnel 14 includes: a tail brush 74 mounted on the shield body 15, which seals the gap between a lining wall 75 and the shield body 15 of the tunnel 14; a bending sensor 63 fitted to the tail brush 74, which detects the bending amount of the tail brush 74 in contact with the lining wall 75; and a control board which determines the sealing state of the tail brush 74 on the basis of the bending amount of the tail brush 74 detected by the bending sensor 63.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
