On one side of the barrel, the inclined faces are formed by two blind holes (3), offset in the axial direction (A) of the barrel, and extending radially in relation to this axis. On the other side, half-moon-shaped recesses (4) are milled out, their bottom faces (4a), running in the barrel lengthwise direction, being engaged by the movable jaws (13,14). Each fixed jaw (10) has a cylindrical boss (11) fitting in a blind hole, also a movable jaw formed by a locking lug (14) on a lever (13), the latter fixed to the bolt (15). The bolt works in a bore (16) in the bridge (5) tangential to the barrel breech (2), and screws into a nut (17) fixed in the bridge. ADVANTAGE - Simple, strong, and can be repeatedly removed and refitted without affecting accuracy.
