A method for transmitting a message is disclosed. The method for transmitting a message may comprise the steps of: acquiring identification information for identifying a user, on the basis of biometric information of the user acquired by a device; determining whether control of an external device has been approved, on the basis of the identification information; acquiring control information used to control an operation of the external device, on the basis of the determination; and transmitting a message including the control information to the external device.
