<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user is required to perform a complicated printing setting every time when printing is performed in an inkjet printer of which the parameters to be used for a color converting process are different for each printing medium. <P>SOLUTION: This image processing device is equipped with a first discriminating means which discriminates whether the printing medium is a genuine one or one made by a third party, and a second discriminating means which discriminates the kinds of printing media. When being the genuine printing medium is discriminated by the first discriminating means, a color converting process is performed by selecting an optimal one from a plurality of color converting parameters existing in an information process from the result by the second discriminating means. When being a third party medium is discriminated by the first discriminating means, the result by the second discriminating means is transmitted to a server at the outside through a communication I/F. Then, the color conversion which is suitable for the printing medium is automatically performed by acquiring an optimal color conversion parameter for the printing medium from the server, and performing the color conversion by using the color parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
