The suspension arrangement (16) has a damping element that is arranged between a spring mounted mass (12) and unsprung mass (14) which has an electromechanical transducer (18). The damping element is operated in an active condition of the electromechanical transducer by a motor. The kinetic energy of the damping element is changeable in a passive condition of the electromechanical transducer by electric energy. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a suspension arrangement for a motor vehicle.
