PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a snow-melting spiral rod sufficiently effective at melting snow even at low power flow. SOLUTION: The snow-melting spiral rod 13 is a spiral wire obtained by roughing the circumferential surface of a wire 5, a low-Curie wire 1 coated with aluminum coating 2 by blasting and thereafter forming a dark gray anodic oxide coating film 11, 5μm-30μm in thickness by anodic oxide coating. Thus, far infrared rays with a wavelength of 2.5μm-30μm can be radiated at an emissivity of 0.65-0.80. Since in the snow-melting spiral rod, transfer of heat by radiation is added to conventional transfer of heat just by conduction and further transfer of heat by radiation is remarkably excellent in heat transfer efficiency as compared with conduction, the spiral rod is highly efficient. The snow-melting spiral rod produces sufficient snow-melting effect even at a low power flow without increasing its amount of winding. Thus, the snow-melting spiral rod is applicable to overheat power transmission lines requiring consideration of low power flow periods.
|
