Provided is a camera endoscope using an optical transmission method, comprising: a camera module attached to an end portion, taking images of surroundings and outputting the same as an electric signal; an end-side photoelectric conversion means for transmission attached to the end portion, converting the electric signal to an optical signal, and outputting the optical signal; an optical transmission path which is an empty space in an insertion portion positioned rearward of the end portion and used as a transmission path for the optical signal outputted from the end-side photoelectric conversion means for transmission; and a head-side photoelectric conversion means for reception attached to a head positioned rearward of the insertion portion, and restoring the optical signal transmitted through the optical transmission path to the electric signal, and outputting the electric signal. |
