PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the braking performance with a simple construction without reinforcing the existing brake system by a method wherein the regenerative braking is switched to the reverse-exciting braking in accordance with a brake input. SOLUTION: A regenerative braking means 30, a reverse-exciting braking means 31 and a switching means 32 which switches the regenerative braking means 30 to the reverse-exciting braking means 31 in accordance with a brake input are provided in a CPU 9, which is provided in a motor controller 4 which controls a shunt motor 3 mounted on a motor-driven travelling vehicle. If the input of a brake switch SW4 does not exist, an FET1 is turned on through an FET driving circuit 17 to carry out the regenerative braking. On the other hand, if the input of the brake switch SW4 exists, FET2 and FET3 or FET4 and FET5 are turned on/off through a field current direction control circuit 11 and an FET driving circuit 20 to carry out the reverse-exciting braking. With this constitution, a braking force which compensates the weight increase of a battery 1 in the motor-driven travelling vehicle can be generated. |
