PURPOSE:To provide a process for producing a porous article of polyvinyl acetal having a relief design formed on its surface. CONSTITUTION:The reaction of liquid mixture of polyvinyl alcohol, an aldehyde, an acid and a pore forming material is performed in the presence of paper which is brought in contact with the mixture. After the reaction, water washing is performed to remove unreacted aldehyde, acid and pore forming material. Simultaneously, the paper is removed, thereby giving a porous article of polyvinyl acetal. In the above procedure, a paste for textile printing is applied to at least a part of the surface of the paper. |
