METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SIMULTANEOUS FORMATION OF NUMBER OF LETTERS ON SURFACE OF OBJECT

PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for forming a large number of characters simultaneously on the surface of an object in order to forming a large number of characters simultaneously by printing the impressed dot parts of a selected character simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: A marking head 16 has a housing supporting the marking head 16 in order to move in the longitudinal and lateral directions by an amount preselected which is controlled by a pair of pulse motors. The marking head 16 have a large number of marking pins 56-72 controlled by an appropriate pneumatic action solenoid 74. After moving a selected distance in the longitudinal direction, a marking device moves through a raster pattern in the longitudinal direction such that each pin 56-72 forms a part of a character. The marking head 16 moves to a parallel y-axis before moving reversely in the longitudinal direction. During movement in reverse direction, all pins act to form other parts of a character in a row.
