PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an outer peripheral tooth which can prevent the occurrence of a burr on the end face of the outer peripheral tooth when the outer peripheral tooth is formed by rolling with a rolling die and a finishing roller. SOLUTION: The outer peripheral tooth 70 is formed by rolling to a disk-like member 18 by the rolling die 26 in a state that a clearance S<SB>1</SB>is formed between the tooth tip of the outer peripheral tooth 70, which is formed at the outer peripheral part 46 of the disk-like member 18, and the bottom of a rolling tooth 66 of the rolling die 26. At the same time, the tooth tip shape of its tip is finished by the finishing roller. Accordingly, a material, which is made to flow by the biting of the rolling tooth 66, is made to easily flow to the tooth tip side of the outer peripheral tooth 70. The material, which is made to flow to the tooth tip side of the outer peripheral tooth 70, is formed into the outer peripheral tooth 70 by being pushed back by the finishing roller 28. The volume of the material can be made as small as possible. The underfill of the outer peripheral tooth 70 does not occur. Moreover, the occurrence of the burr on the end face of the outer peripheral tooth 70, which is caused by the outflow of the material for the disk-like member 18 between the outer peripheral faces 48a, 50a of a mandrel device 20 and the outer peripheral face 68 of the rolling die 26, can be prevented.
