The aim of the invention is the efficient production of multilayer value or security documents (10). This is achieved by a method in which the value or security document (10) is at least made of a polymer base layer (12) and a security element (11) laminated thereon. The method has the following method steps: (a) providing a polymer base material in the form of polymer base material single or multiple printed panels (120) which have polymer base layer printed panels (121); (b) providing a web material (115), which is provided for producing a plurality of security element printed panels (111), in a rolled format; (c) producing the security element printed panels (111) on and/or in the web material (115); (d) combining and stacking each polymer base material single or multiple printed panel (120) and each security element printed panel (111) one top of the other such that each polymer base layer printed panel (121) and a security element printed panel (111) lie one of the top of the other in a precisely aligned manner; and (e) connecting together the surfaces of each polymer base layer printed panel (121) and the security element printed panel (111). Security material single or multiple printed panels (110) are separated from the web material (115) provided in the rolled format, wherein the security material single or multiple printed panels (110) have one or more security element printed panels (111). The single or multiple printed panels (110) are then processed in the method steps (d) and (e).
