PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and efficiently manage, in simple configuration, information additionally written to a printed document as contents of modification to the document. SOLUTION: A storage section 107 stores an original image for each page of a document before additional writing. An image processing apparatus 1 reads an image for each page of the document to which data is additionally written, using an image reader 102, compares each read input image with each original image stored in the storage section 107 and specified a modified page that is modified by the additional writing. The image processing apparatus 1 then updates an original image of the modified page, among the original pages stored in the storage section 107, using the input image of the modified page.
