PURPOSE:To increase the content of a carbide-base hard grain in a thermally sprayed coating film and to improve wear resistance of the film at the time of plasma-spraying the grain under reduced pressure over the surface of a base material by coating the grain with Ni or Co. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a carbide-base hard grain as the raw material for thermal spraying is coated with Ni or Co, the coated grain is sprayed over the surface of a base material by laser-plasma hybrid spraying combinedly using reduced-pressure plasma spraying or laser irradiation. By this method, the thermal decomposition of the hard grain is suppressed to some extent, and the grain content in the sprayed coating film is increased. The grain of SiC or WC is appropriately used as the carbide-base hard grain. Meanwhile, the base material is undercoated with Ti by reduced-pressure plasma spraying or laser-plasma hybrid spraying to enhance the adhesion between the coating film and base material. |
