A combination drying and washing machine of a drum type and a control method thereof are provided to inform a user of temperature in a tub in opening a door just after finishing washing steps or while washing the laundry and to prevent the user from being burned due to hot air by providing a predetermined warning message when temperature in the tub is over a set temperature in opening the door of the washing machine. A combination drying and washing machine of a drum type comprises a tub, a drum, an inner temperature sensing unit, a control unit, a display unit, and an alarm sound generating unit. The tub is for storing washing water inside. The drum is received in the tub. The inner temperature sensing unit measures temperature in the tub and the drum(S120). The control unit reads temperature measured by the inner temperature sensing unit. The control unit outputs a predetermined warning message when temperature detected by the inner temperature sensing unit reaches to a preset temperature(S130, S140). The display unit shows the predetermined warning message according to control signals of the control unit. The alarm sound generating unit outputs predetermined alarm sounds. |
