PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of suppressing deterioration of the durability of a lock-up clutch without losing the effect of fuel economy improvement provided by idling stop control and start-time lock-up control.SOLUTION: When a predetermined stop condition is established by idling stop control, an engine is stopped, and when a predetermined re-start condition is established after the engine stop, the engine 2 is started again. When a vehicle starts (YES in step S1), based on the stop continuance time (idling stop time) of the engine 2 by latest idling stop control before the start, a lock-up start vehicle speed is set (step S2). When the vehicle speed of the vehicle 1 reaches the lock-up start vehicle speed (YES in step S3), start-time lock-up control is started (step S4), and a lock-up clutch is engaged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
