<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet head achieving stable ejection of ink for a long period of time without being influenced by ink mist adhering to a nozzle plate or dust such as paper powder or lint of a recording medium and printing high quality characters or images, and to provide a method for manufacturing the inkjet head. <P>SOLUTION: A hydrophilic treatment is applied to the surface of the nozzle plate and a water-repellent film is formed on a region surrounding a nozzle opening 27 at 40±15 μm from the edge thereof. As ink mist flying to adhere to a portion in the vicinity of the nozzle opening, or paper powder or lint of a recording medium is attracted to the side of the hydrophilic treatment-applied portion, it is not brought into contact with the ink in the nozzle opening so that the meniscus can be adequately maintained. As the contact angle of the ink at the hydrophilic treatment-applied portion is markedly small, a liquid droplet formed by aggregation of the ink mist is not created nor dropped on a recording medium due to vibration generated in the printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
