BACKLIGHT UNIT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING THE SAME

A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display having the same are provided to prevent generation of bright lines and dark lines, improve brightness uniformity, and reduce thickness of the backlight unit, by forming a partial reflecting structure at a right upper part of light sources. A liquid crystal display has a plurality of light sources(10). A reflecting sheet(20) is formed under the plurality of light sources for reflecting lights emitted from the plurality of light sources to an upper side. A diffusion sheet(30) is formed above the plurality of light sources for dispersing the lights received from the plurality of light sources. A partial reflecting structure(40) is formed at a right upper part of the plurality of light sources to transmit some of the lights while reflecting some of the lights.
