PURPOSE:To attain the emulation in response to the high speed operation of a target CPU by providing an ICE chip where the independent circuits of the same type as the target CPU are integrated and an interface means which secures the communication with a target machine and an external host computer. CONSTITUTION:A RAM 52 serving as a substitute memory which stores partly a user program is provided on a substrate 50 together with an ICE chip 54 which contains the control software, a breaking circuit, a trace memory, etc., and attains the primary functions of an ICE 70. Then a regulator 56 is added to supply the proper power voltage to the RAM 52 and the chip 54 together with a moduler jack 58 which secures the connection to an external host computer and a power supply, and a crystal oscillator 60 which serves as a clock reference oscillator. In such a constitution, the high speed emulation of a read device can be attained. |
