<p>The gear box has synchronizing devices (18, 32) for selectively and rotatably synchronizing drive pinions (14, 16) which are associated to two shafts (8, 10). The synchronizing device (32) associated to a maximum ratio is independent from jaw clutching devices (34), where one jaw clutching device associated to a gear ratio is independent from the jaw clutching devices associated to other gear ratios. A speed sensor (44) measures magnitude of speed of rotation of the shaft (8). An independent claim is also included for a method for changing a gear ratio.</p> |
