PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that can reduce power consumption and suppress increase in manufacturing cost.SOLUTION: The display device includes: a first insulation substrate; a second insulation substrate opposing to the first insulation substrate; a first pixel electrode and a second electrode disposed between the first insulation substrate and the second insulation substrate; a wavelength conversion element that is located between the first pixel electrode and the first insulation substrate or between the first pixel electrode and the second insulation substrate and converts light at a first wavelength polarized in a first polarization direction into light at a second wavelength polarized in a second polarization direction; and a liquid crystal layer that is disposed between the first insulation substrate and the second insulation substrate and has a first thickness in a region opposing to the first pixel electrode and a second thickness larger than the first thickness in a region opposing to the second pixel electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
