OCTACALCIUM PHOSPHATE CRYSTAL CONTAINING BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE, METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME AND MEDICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slowly releasing medical composition which can react at local lesions in metastatic bone tumor and osteoporosis, which are intractable disorders and where normal bone metabolism is impeded, or in articular rheumatism which is immunity disorder of bone. SOLUTION: The octacalcium phosphate crystal containing the sufficient amount of a biologically active substance can be prepared by substituting HPO42-group in a surface or a hydrate layer of octacalcium phosphate crystal with the biologically active substance which can treat bone disorders. This octacalcium phosphate crystal containing the biologically active substance is applied to a lesion of bone disorder and since osteoclasts having retarded function dissolves the octacalcium phosphate crystal, the biologically active substance is effectively released at the lesion and the concentration of the medical agent can be raised to carry out effective treatment.
