PURPOSE:To enhance whiteness and recording aptitude by laminating a thermal recording layer containing 4,4'-bis(1-aziridinocarbonylamino)diphenylmethane and a co-dispersion of aromatic carboxylic acid and zinc oxide along with a color former and a developer to a support. CONSTITUTION:A color forming dye precursor, a developer, 4,4'-bis(1- aziridinocarbonylamino)diphenylmethane and a co-dispersion of aromatic carboxylic acid represented by formula (wherein n is 1, 2 or 3 and R is hydrogen, a methyl group, an ethyl group, a methoxy group, an ethoxy group or a hydroxyl group) and zinc oxide are compounded with an aqueous medium in predetermined amounts under stirring to prepare a coating solution. Next, a predetermined amount of the coating solution is applied to at least one surface of a support such as synthetic paper or a plastic film and dried to obtain a thermal recording material having a thermal recording layer. As aromatic carboxylic acid, one with an m.p. of 80-150 deg.C and water solubility of 5g/100g or less is pref. |
