PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dissolving and liquefying polymer gel obtained by forming a three dimensional network with an amide group-containing polymer compound with a clay mineral. SOLUTION: This method for dissolving the polymer gel is provided by bringing an aqueous solvent solution of a nonionic surfactant and an aqueous solvent solution of a water soluble polymer compound having a polyoxyethylene chain or polyol chain in contact with the polymer gel obtained by forming the three dimensional network with the amide group-containing polymer compound with the clay mineral. By this method, it is possible to dissolve for liquefying the polymer gel excellent in uniformity, swelling property, temperature-responding property, dynamic properties, etc., as necessary and is useful for removing, recovering or disposing the polymer gel.
