SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR APPLYING MULTI-COLOURED SURFACE MARKINGS TO A SURFACE A method for applying multi-coloured surface markings to a surface (12) using a first manifold (16A) configured to receive a first coloured marking fluid and a second manifold (16B) configured to receive a second coloured marking fluid, the first and second manifolds (16A, 16B) each including a plurality of spray nozzles (14) and a plurality of valves (24), each valve (24) being configured to regulate the flow of marking fluid from a respective one of the spray nozzles (14), the method comprising: receiving, at a controller (22) communicatively connected to the valves (24), a pixel data map (32) associated with a desired surface marking to be applied across an area of the surface (12), the surface marking including a first portion to be applied using the first coloured marking fluid and a second portion to be applied using the second coloured marking fluid; scaling the pixel data map (32) based on the dimensions of the desired surface marking; controlling, via the controller (22), the operation of the valves (24) of the first manifold (16A) as the first manifold (16A) is moved along the surface (12) such that the first coloured marking fluid is discharged from the spray nozzles (14) of the first manifold (16A) in a manner that generates the first portion of the desired surface marking across the surface (12); and controlling, via the controller (22), the operation of the valves (24) of the second manifold (16B) as the second manifold (16B) is moved along the surface (12) such that the second coloured marking fluid is discharged from the spray nozzles (14) of the second manifold (16B) in a manner that generates the second portion of the desired surface marking across the surface (12). |
