PURPOSE:To obtain a high density image excellent in image stability (fixability) and pref. from the aspect of color reproducibility by forming an image from a thermal transfer recording agent containing a specific dye in the presence of a specific compound supplying a metal ion. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving material is superposed on the ink layer of a thermal transfer recording material containing a heat-diffusible dye represented by formula I (wherein R, R' and R'' are a halogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group or the like, x and y are respectively an integer of 0-3 and Z is an integer of 0-4) and the thermal transfer recording material is heated to form an image on the image receiving material in the presence of a compound supplying a metal ion represented by formula II (wherein Q1, Q2 and Q3 are respectively a coordination compound capable of bonding a metal ion represented by M by a coordinate bond and L is a pair anion capable of forming a complex). |
