PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyarylene sulfide fiber consisting of a polyarylene sulfide resin capable of being manufactured with sufficiently suppressing generation of thread breakage during spinning or a composition containing the same and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: There is disclosed a polyarylene sulfide fiber consisting of a polyarylene sulfide resin or a composition containing the same. The polyarylene sulfide rein can be obtained by a method including a process of reacting a poly(arylene sulfonium salt)and an aliphatic amide compound to obtain the polyarylene sulfide resin and the polyarylene sulfide resin has an absorption peak in a range of 2910 cmto 2930 cmin an infrared absorption spectrum measured by the FT-IR spectrometry.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
