PURPOSE:To obtain the title magnetic powder with reduced variation in coercive force and improved physical properties by forming hexagonal ferrite magnetic powder with a composition containing as substituent elements Nb, Bi, Sb and each specific metallic element. CONSTITUTION:The objective magnetic powder can be obtained by formation with a composition of the formula (M<1> is metallic element selected from Ba, Sr, Pb and Ca; M<2> is metallic element selected from Mn, Mg, Ni, Al, Ce, Cr, Cu, La, V, Ti, Zr and W; a is 8-13; b is 0.01-8; c is 0.3-6; d is 0.01-6; e is 0.01-6; f is number of oxygen atoms satisfying the valences of the other elements). The present magnetic powder is low in the variation in coercive force, excellent in densification with fine average particle size, great in saturation magnetization, and also excellent in dispersibility. |
