Provided is a writing implement which makes it possible to easily recognize the direction of a penpoint part even in a state of a cap being fitted and enables efficient and easy execution of writing work with the direction of the penpoint part set smoothly to a writing object surface. The writing implement 1 has the body 2 of the writing implement having the penpoint part 2p on the tip side and the cap 3 fitted removably to the body 2 so that it covers the penpoint part 2p, and the implement is so constituted that the penpoint part 2p has directional properties and that writing can be conducted by setting the direction of the penpoint part 2p to the writing object surface of paper sheets or the like. An indent 21 in which the forefinger can be put so that the direction of the penpoint part2p is set to the writing object surface and a recess 22 which shows the direction of the penpoint part 2p in the state of the cap 3 being fitted and can guide the tip of the forefinger to the indent21, are formed on the main body 2 of the writing implement. |
