The present invention pertains to an apparatus for disc reproduction and sound-on-disc recording, which comprises a plurality of disc units, including at least one reader (4) and at least one resident disc pack (6) with compartments. The disc pack is intended to accommodate both the record units and the transfer mechanism (12) which conveys the discs between the disk units and takes position in front of the disk removal unit or the disc setting unit, as need be. The invention suggests a storage unit for the various disc removal or disc setting positions as well as an adjustment device for correcting position values in relation to corresponding reference values, each position being likely to be corrected on the transfer mechanism (2). Data related to set positions are stored and used to drive the transfer mechanism either for disc removal or disc setting.
