PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce torsion torque applied to an elastic body for pressing a worm wheel toward a worm. SOLUTION: A first uneven strip is disposed in an inner periphery of the worm wheel 4 that meshes with the worm 3 rotated by an electric motor 1 and is engaged with the outside of a rotary shaft 64 of a steering means. The outer periphery of the rotary shaft 64 is provided with a second uneven strip for transmitting a rotation torque by meshing with the first uneven strip. The elastic body for pressing the worm wheel 4 toward the worm 3 is disposed between the first uneven strip and the second uneven strip. The torsion torque is suppressed from being applied to the elastic body by meshing of the first uneven strip with the second uneven strip. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
