DOUBLE COATED INORGANIC POWDER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To obtain double coated inorganic powder comprising a first coated layer containing inorganic substance powder, an organic thiol compound forded on the surface of the powder and a second coated layer containing an organic binder on the first coated layer, having high dispersibility in a thick film, excellent in printability and coating performance. CONSTITUTION: Inorganic substance powder such as spherical silver powder produced by a wet method is sufficiently coated and treated with an organic thiol compound such as octadecyl thiol by pouring the organic thiol compound and the surface of the powder is provided with a first coated layer containing the organic thiol compound and/or the reaction product of the organic thiol compound and an inorganic substance. The coated powder is treated with an organic binder comprising a solution obtained by adding ethyl cellulose and nitrocellulose to an equivalent mixed solution of methyl ethyl ketone and toluene and a second layer containing the organic binder is formed on the first coated layer to give the objective high-quality double coated inorganic powder having high dispersibility in a thick film and slight deformation of particles and providing excellent printability and coating performance.
