PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having high developability, high image quality and durability even under a severe environmental change in a high speed development system. SOLUTION: The toner includes magnetic toner particles at least including a binder resin and magnetic iron oxide. In the magnetic iron oxide, the dissolution rate of an S element when the dissolution rate of Fe to the total Fe content is 50 mass% is <40 mass% to the total S element content. In the toner, regarding wettability to a methanol/water mixed solvent, if it is measured at the transmittance of light with a wavelength of 780 nm, the methanol concentration when the transmittance is 80% lies in the range of 45 to 75 vol%, and further, the methanol concentration when the transmittance is 10% lies in the range of 45 to 75 vol%.
